Palm City Polo Club Gallops Ahead With Final Construction

Wellington, FL – March 21, 2015 — The action is on at the new Palm City Polo Club, an exciting and expansive polo facility in Boynton Beach, just minutes from Wellington. The horses have moved into their new home – a 48-stall barn custom designed for polo ponies – and are competing in polo games and giving riding lessons.

Several months of construction have culminated in the state-of-the-art facility, which was designed and built by owner and trainer Joey Casey. Widely recognized as one of the most experienced American players in the sport, he planned every inch of the facility with an eye toward the safety, comfort and enjoyment of the horses, players and spectators.

“Our goal is to promote an environment where players from novice to high-goal levels of competition can play in a relaxed atmosphere with the amenities of a full-service training facility,” he said. Casey designed Palm City Polo to be inclusive and welcoming to anyone interested in polo, whether they want to compete, take lessons, or just watch a game.

The 35-acre facility, which has been operational since December, was completed this month. It features a regulation grass polo field and a regulation outdoor arena, with additional polo fields in the plans. There are 14 paddocks, a hitting cage, a 100-foot round pen and an exercise track. Players and guests have use of the new polo lounge and patio area that sit adjacent to the main polo field. Plans call for additional amenities.

In collaboration with Warren Prescott of JW Turf, Casey introduced a new type of grass that has never been used on any other polo field in the world. Players who have had the opportunity to play on this field have raved about the footing and resilience.

With league play ongoing, Palm City Polo Club is looking feature tournament polo (4-6 goal and 8-10 goal leagues) from September to June.
